A set of recordings captured in the city of Sao Tome. From the stray dogs that roam the empty streets of the capital during the night, to the busy market during the day. Locals sell the island products, from clothes, vegetables, fruits, salted and fresh fish in a bustling indoor and outdoor market (binaural audio). A distant power generator in the outskirts of the city closes this set of recordings.

Beautifully recorded soundscapes of a forest full of life. But the liner notes say: "Tragically this area was chopped dead less than a year after the recordings took place." Another environment lost, with only memories and recordings surviving. William Denton

Is there anything more difficult to record than wind? It helps if you have a $6K mic like Sound Field 350. on the first 1/2 hr track peerless field recorder jana winderen listens deeply to her own backyard, where the maple seeds are falling, turning, rubbing in the wind in a delicately layered found drone. sublime. mikehoolboom
